I found this pattern super easy and liked that it wasn't done in rounds (not my strong suit). A great project to practice double crochet. I used Red Heart Worsted Weight yarn (in Heather Grey) rather than chunky because I didn't want it to be too thick and, I used a 8mm crochet hook.
I love, love, love this cowl!
I can wear it doubled:

Hi Brenda! I just started crocheting and this was a great project to do! Just found this website:

that shows crochet techniques from beginning to end.
Thanks for visiting!

{PS: What a fun idea for a blog!! Love it ... Enjoy your journey towards crossing the next task off your list! ;)}
ReplyDeleteI love this! I'm pretty much a beginner crocheter and these are simple and fun. The yarn I chose turned out to be too scratchy against the skin, so I'll try the yarn that you used and see how it goes. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteHi Kerry!
DeleteI used Red Heart, I don't find it scratchy. One yarn I love is KnitPicks Brava Worsted (www.knitpicks.com). I've used it for a blanket I am making for my son and it is super soft (about $3.99/skein).
I also posted a link above (in the reply to Brenda) which has great video tutorials for different stitches.
Good Luck! Post a reply with a link when you're done so I can see a picture!
Muy bonita te ha quedado y seguro que para el frio de invierno vendrá genial.
